Author Biography

Mary Virginia Tynan, Furman University

Mary Virginia Tynan recently graduated from Furman University with a B.A. in Communication Studies, where she worked as a research aide and teacher assistant. While at Furman she was active in the Leadership Programs and worked as a ropes course facilitator. She is currently pursuing a career in nonprofit management in Durham, North Carolina. An earlier version of her paper was presented to the 2005 Theodore Clevenger Undergraduate Honors Conference of the Southern States Communication Association in Baton Rouge, LA.
